I played PETALISMS for 16 points and new best word/longest word records! It made me think of the old slogan "flower power." Haha, but nope it's actually:

Definition of Petalism

1. n. A form of sentence among the ancient Syracusans by which they banished for five years a citizen suspected of having dangerous influence or ambition. It was similar to the ostracism in Athens; but olive leaves were used instead of shells for ballots.

Interesting! I just realised I've never researched the etymology of ostracism!

I assume that it's only a matter of time before NEOPALEOPETALISTICALLY comes up on a 5x5.

Damn. All sorts of possibilities. Now I'll have to watch for -PETAL- along with all the other things I look for. (Your word is better than mine, point-wise. I'll look for that.)

What did you find out? I've never looked it up either, but it you're looking for several words that mean smelt or the Himalayan Blue Sheep --- I've got 'em all (I think)

Good Games to You!

So I just found UNTENT by accident: finger-slip while trying to type INTENT.

Definition: to remove from a tent. Figures.

Lol, you gotta love some of the words in this game. I played LIQUORISH and it was valid. Then I played LIQUORISHNESS for 28 points! I didn't look up the definition though.
