MegaWord is on the road to greatness
Default I'm back

New 4x4 record!

247 words: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wk71rgF0jSc
40 min. session: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3JlFpDxwnQ

Was getting some seriously high scoring games in this session. I've been coming close to breaking my 5x5 records too, had a 304 word game and a 1,848 point game recently on 5x5. Didn't expect to beat my words record on 4x4 though, nice. My typing speed seems as good as ever.

Congrats! Awesome!! Way to go! Good to have you back. You have a crazy skillset there, girl. (I've been told you are female anyway.)

Default I'm male

Thanks for the congrats. Not that it's a big deal, but I'm male. You really think a girl would be this egotistical . The vast majority of speedrunning gamer record holders are male.

I am now in the know. I guess you can't always trust secondhand info even from seemingly reliable sources. She claimed to have known you from the early years. But it seems she lost track of your gender along the way.
Rock on, brother!

I did see you referred to as "she" at one time. Until that point, I had assumed you were a guy (and I also assumed that was the latent sexist in me coming out). If the "Spike" thing doesn't give it away, I'm a guy too.

Please feel free to insert any non-sexist disclaimers here.

By the way, I've occasionally seen your 1200-1300+ points/game show up on the records, but I didn't realize that you've done better than 1800. That's amazing! Can you beat 2000?

Default 2,000 possibility

2,000+ is definitely possible for me. I've been on pace a couple minutes in, believe it was my first 1,848 point game, which is recorded. I'm not particularly fired up to break 2,000 points like I was for 300 words, but who knows what'll happen.

Yaaay, Mega!! good job! Umm, Spike? ...Spike is fairly gender neutral, AND you were named for a cat... the vids are actually too fast for me to watch.

I thought of Spike as a fairly masculine name, but maybe that's my latent sexism creeping in again. (We never would have used that name for a female cat. We used Julie.) Then again, we did start out by giving him a pink collar, which he always managed to lose.

I have to side with you. It was deemed masculine enough for a cable TV channel for men (Spike TV) to use it. Maybe it's just a North American perception though.
